Purpose of the Position
To deliver an insurance premium collection within the expectations outlined and in line with the credit policy of the company.
The successful candidate will be based in Dar es salaam and will report to the Financial Controller
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist in the setting up of the credit control system.
• Ensure that debts are paid in a timely manner.
• Meet cash & debtor day targets set by the company.
• Chose overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales.
• Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity.
• Regular meetings with membership unit to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary.
• Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to avert indebtedness.
• Ensure that all transactions are compliant with TIRA regulations.
• Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms.
• Provide accurate ad-hoc reporting as and when requested.
• Post payments to the ACCPAC and allocate as required.
• Undertake debtors and revenue account reconciliations as required.
• Assist in the preparations of the monthly management accounts.
• Send out monthly client billing statements/letters as may be agreed from time to time.
• Develop the credit management capability within the company.
• Provide cover for other accounting functions as requested.
• Daily collection report and Monthly Triangulations Reports.
• Other duties as delegated from time to time by supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications:-
Education
• CPA (T) holder
• Bachelor or Advance Diploma in Accounting.
• Accounting system knowledge e.g. SAGE ACCPAC.
• Five (5) years working experience as an Accountant.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Proven technical accounting skills.

• Experience in insurance industry will be an added advantage.
