Duties and Responsibilities:
– Coordinate the organisation’s financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems
– Providing and interpreting financial information
– Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends
– Managing payroll for project staff
– Contributing to the development and maintenance of financial systems and processes
– Providing advice and information to the organisation’s Finance Manager
– Preparing and managing budgets
– Ensuring all financial regulations are adhered to
– Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
– Developing and maintaining relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, bankers and statutory organisations such as Tanzania Revenue Authority
– Producing accurate financial reports to specific deadlines
– Keeping abreast of changes in national financial regulations and legislation and advising management of the same
– Support colleagues with issues on Excel, budgeting and other financial matters
– Handling procurement of office and project supplies
– Managing the administrative functions that facilitate smooth and efficient running of the office
– Responsible for office equipment repairs and maintenance
– Other duties as assigned by line manager
Minimum qualifications required:
– A degree in Finance or Accounting
– At least 3 years of experience working in donor funded projects
– Experience working with accounting software. Knowledge of Sage Accounting Software will be an added advantage
– Good financial report writing skills
– Good team player with self-motivation
– Ability to communicate financial data effectively, on paper and verbally
– A strong sense of loyalty and best practice
