Senior Accountant / Finance Manager – BORDA Southern Africa

Required Qualification:Master’s degree in accounting/ finance/ business administration

Required general skills:Good reporting Skills, Attention to Detail, Deadline-Oriented, Confidentiality, Time Management, Data Entry Management, Good skills in Excel and Accounting Software is a prerequisite

Experience:Minimum 5-7 years professional experience in a similar position

Languages:Good command of spoken and written English mandatory.

Computer skills:Good knowledge of MS Office. Good working knowledge of modern communication systems.

Personal Skills:Good written and oral communication skills. Creative, flexible and capable of working in a fast moving environment.Team player, able to work in a multi-cultural environment. Can work independently and autonomous,

Main Responsibilities:
Finance Management for project activities financed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and other donors (EU, GiZ, e.g.)
· Bookkeeping for current projects, (responsibility for the projects may vary).
· Bank and cash reconciliations for all accounts and cash boxes at the end of period reporting.
· Documenting financial transactions by entering account information into accounting software
· Processing of payroll for national staff.
· Developing and updating financial procedures, office policies and documentations
· Recommending financial actions by analysing accounting options.
· Summarizing current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet and other reports.
· Manages petty cash.
· Actively support office management activities and procedures
· Liaison with cashiers at partner project locations.
