1.2 Reports to: College Bursar
1.3 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Daily supervision of Accounts Staff on all Accounting responsibilities.
• Maintains books of Accounts and allied records and ensures that disbursements of funds are supported by adequate documents
• Prepares schedules, statements and other financial information for Management and Auditors on monthly, quarterly and annual basis as per ATC Financial Regulations and GAAP.
• Assists the Bursar in ensuring daily posting of transactions into Navision System.
• Ensures timely reconciliation of SL and GL
• Ensures timely retirement of imprests and advances with timely measures against offenders.
• Ensures annual budget is uploaded into Navision System on timely basis with strict adherence to the budget codes and limits.
• Maintenance of updated Fixed Assets Register with proper charge of depreciation in consultation with the SSO.
• Undertakes physical assets (Movable) count three weeks before year end in consultation with the SSO.
• Ensures timely preparation and posting of journal Vouchers for payroll matters including deductions with timely remittance to respective authorities.
• Initiates and recommends improvement to the Accounting System;
• Ensures availability of Bank reports three times a week
• Performs any other duties assigned by his/her seniors
1.4 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Holder of Advanced Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Accountancy with CPA(T) or its equivalent qualification recognized by NBAA and working experience of not less than seven (7) years in related professional duties from a recognized institution/organization. Knowledge of Ms Navision system will be an added advantage.
• Holder of Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business from a recognized institution with CPA(T) or equivalent qualification recognized by NBAA and five (5) years working experience in related professional duties . Knowledge of Ms Navision system will be an added advantage.
1.5 REMUNERATION
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the College Salary Scale, PGSS 16
