OBJECTIVE
The overall objective of the SA is to assist the finance manager with maintaining financial systems,
internal controls and discipline in the finance department as well as across other departments
including stores and procurement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of the SA include:
1. Review imprest retirement and ensure all authorizations are met before processing in the
accounting system
2. Initiate bank transactions and bank account reconciliation
3. Reconcile Accounts Payable and Receivable as well as monthly accruals and payments of
withholding taxes
4. Preparation of payment vouchers and cheques to ensure timely settlement of all invoices
5. Quarterly stock count and inventory verification
6. Maintaining Statutory accounts for PAYE, SDL, NSSF, PPF, WCF & VAT
7. Provide backup to the FiM when the FiM is absent during leave or business travel
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Personal
a. Self-starter and Highly motivated individual
b. Capable of working in remote areas with a diverse team of people
2. Experience
a. At least 3 years of experience working in similar environment and position
b. Knowledge of Tax and Employment Laws
c. Ability to utilize Electronic Accounting Systems
3. Qualifications / Skills
a. Relevant University Degree
b. Advanced Diploma in Accounting/Finance
c. Computer literate (Excel, Word & Outlook)
d. Excellent communication skills and fluent in English and Kiswahili
SALARY AND BENEFITS
KVTC will pay a competitive salary based on skills and experience. The position will be a two-year
contract.
