Job Purpose:
To position and enhance assess consumer and business conditions and formulate, direct and implement marketing strategies for MCL’s brands and MCL’s corporate image to the public and in the country to achieve the overall business objectives of the Company.
Main Responsibilities:
Formulates the Company’s corporate and strategic marketing plans and drives the implementation of the corporate events calendar and marketing plans to deliver against company objectives.
Lead the development and implementation of strategic brand plans, activations and promotions to strengthen MCL’s brands and increase its share of market in the various consumer segments
Liaison with Division and Department Heads on editorial, circulation and advertising to align on business objectives and marketing needs
Design and implement both below and above the line marketing programs to support MCL products and services – print and on-line
Coordinate market research programs to identify products and readers gaps for guided
marketing strategies to improve sales and market share of MCL offerings
Ensure marketing activities add value to the business and are within budget
Develops the corporate affairs brand communication approach articulates and driveiMCL’s position on various issues to the public and building the MCL “Brand” to gain to gain the necessary mileage on MCL’s corporate social citizenship role
Develops and coordinates the Company’s PR activities to ensure significant bonding with the public – community relations, client intimacy to protect and develop the company’s brands through suitable PR activities
Planning and developing annual communication plans, campaigns and strategy, to focus on communication to support sensitive decisions or topics such as crisis communication, CSR, divestments or financial performance
Prepares and controls the approved Corporate Affairs and Marketing budgets I
Reviews briefs and other communication materials for the Company’s Spokespersons; and responding to negative criticism promptly to ensure that it does not affect the image 0 I the Company
Other roles and duties as will be assigned by the supervisor and or the company
Performance Management:
Appraises staff, identifies training needs and develops potential
Achieves agreed targets:
Client intimacy programmes
Deadlines control- zero tolerance
Customer service – maximum 24 hour turnaround for resolution of complaints or Requests
Qualifications and Experience:
Basic university degree
Diploma in PR and Communications studies
Minimum of 5 -7 years of working experience
