Communications Assistant – Dar es salaam – WFP Tanzania

The public information’s unit of WFP Tanzania aims to enhance public awareness and understanding of WFP’s work in the both local and international audience it works to improve brand recognitions through both conventional and non conventional avenues of communications to apples as wide an audiences as possible

WFP is seeking to recruit communications assistant to support its PI Unit under the general supervisions of the head of the PI Unit then, communications assistant will perform the following
– Assist with media events including photocopy videographer and logistics
– Produce content for print and social media including Twitter and face book
– Scan local newspaper daily for coverage of the relevant
– Liaise with other UN communications officers for the joint activities
– Comply donor and other reports
– Manage and maintain records and data base
– Assist with the administrative tasks for the PI Unit
– Travel upcountry as needed

QUALIFICATIONS
– Completion of secondary school educations
– A master degree in journalism, communications public relations and experience in media is desirable

EXPERIENCE
– Ability to perform routine communications techniques and activities line with WFP’s operating standard through day to day work has support in providing ad-hoc guidance to new staff member

SKILLS
– Excellent knowledge and understanding of social media trends proven writing and editing photography and video grapy skills knowledge of windows computer applications knowledge of social and political situations in Tanzania and East Africa region ability to perform multiple tasks good interpersonal skills and team spirit

LANGUAGE
Fluency in both oral and written English and Kiswahili
