Project Driver Cum – Pathfinder International

Position Purpose
The Driver cum Logistics Officer will be responsible for office/program transportation and
logistics duties such as driving program vehicles to make deliveries, transporting staff and/or
program visitors as needed for conservation and PHE work. S/he is responsible for maintenance
of program vehicles and equipment and keeping maintenance records of the same. S/he will
manage basic procurement processes

Key Responsibilities
 Transport Pathfinder staff, Visitors, government officials and goods securely to areas where
they are needed and guarantee the safety of all goods and personnel.
 Ensure timely conveyance of staff and materials to and from places as instructed by
supervisor or the manager
 Report any instance of mishap or accident to the supervisor and Office Manager/Head Driver
 Perform periodic maintenance on vehicles, such as changing batteries and vehicle service atappropriate time, as well as refueling the car(s).
 Keep all records, including receipts for vehicle maintenance, fuel receipt and maintain the log
sheets and ensure daily mileage recording
 Support the Tuungane Team in Tanganyika district with all logistical arrangements such as
booking of hotels, venues, photocopy, scanning, dispatching of letters, securing documents
for procurement processes and purchase of basic office items

Basic Requirements
 A competency driving certificate from the National Institute of Transport
 Familiarity and experiences with the regional terrain
 Ability to draft reports is a must
 Basic computer literacy
 Experiences working with NGOs is an added advantage

Preferred Qualifications
 Minimum of 3 years of work experience preferably with NGOs in rural remote area
 Ability to trouble shoot vehicle /equipment maintenance problem and undertake minor
maintenance and repairs.
 Ability to complete tasks independently and manage diverse activities under deadlines.
 Ability to maintain vehicles and equipment in cleanness conditions at all times
 High level of customer care
 Familiarity with the use of computer ,internet and e‐mails
