Job Details:
Scope of work:
1. Responding to emergency calls for medical assistance at accidents, emergencies and other related incidents, for the permanent staff and/or guests of the lodge.
2. Transport the sick patients to and from hospital to hospital when called upon to.
3. Administering of life-saving procedures such as BLS, defibrillation and other assistance to the clinic staff colleagues.
4. Applying splints to limbs, dressing wounds, administering pain relief (ice packs) and reading monitoring equipment.
5. Ensuring that the clinic ambulance is maintained to mobile condition at all times; the ambulance should be up to date with servicing.
6. Assisting the clinic staff in Stabilizing patients prior to their transportation by ambulance or medical evacuation.
7. Make sure that the clinic ambulance is free from the traffic rules infringement.
8. Overseeing the efficiency of the ambulance and equipment to maintain a state of operational readiness.
9. Assisting with patient care in hospitals or health care centres.
10. Writing up a report regarding the road transfers of patients to relevant hospitals and vehicle servicing.
11. Conducting monthly stock takes of all trauma/emergency equipment kitted in the ambulance, and recording and explaining any variances.
12. Must improve and apply her communications skills and also learn simple English vocabulary that will enable her to interact with the patients and the clinic staff
As such the person filling this position needs to have:
1. Be fully qualified as a driver: class “c” driving license
2. Have several years of experience as a ambulance driver or EMT ( Emergency Medical Technician)
3. Have good communication skills
4. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
5. Good decision making ability
6. Good team work ability
7. Form four certificate (O-level Certificate or equivalent)
8. Attention to details
