Communications Specialist – Dodoma – CHEMONICS

Pamoja Twajenga, the USAID- funded Capacity Development for Accountability program, is seeking a “Communications specialist” to support program and porter’s communication efforts. Pamoja Twajenga works hand- in-hand with selected civil society organizations (CSOs) and Government of Tanzania (GOT) Institutions of Accountability (IOAs) to support the implementation of their USAID – funded programs in Mtwara, Iringa, Dodoma, Morogoro, and Zanzibar, We are looking for a qualified Tanzania to fulfill this position, which is not expected to exceed one year. The Communications specialist is envisioned to:
POSITION; COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
.Develop and implement the project’s communications plan and support those of our CSO and IOA partners:
.Train and guide project and partner staff t ensure that results of project actives are documented and communicated effetely and expediently to stakeholders, USAID, AND THE Tanzania public:
.Supervise and coordinate inputs from counterparts in the development and realization of communications activities:
Manage the internal communications of the project and support the chief of party and technical staff in their external communications;
Apply and train partners on applying USAID’s branding and marking regulations and other communications guidelines (event planning, meeting concurrence, photo release forms, etc) to ensure correct branding of all training materials, presentations, and printed materials;
.Coordinate project events, including workshops, trainings, presentations, surveys, etc.
.Engage and develop media coverage related to the project;
.Identify project success story topics and prepare success stories for submission to USAID and other audiences;
Photograph and document project- sponsored improvement with” before and after” photos;
.Develop project videos, success stories, and other communication products.

Qualifications.
.University degree in a relevant field required, advanced degree preferred;
.Minimum of five years of professional experience:
.Experience working with international donor-funded projects, preferably USAID;
.Familiarity with the political, social, and cultural context in Tanzania;
Strong communication skills, including interpersonal and written and oral English; proficiency in Swahili desired;
. Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.
