The Law School of Tanzania (LST) was established by the Act Parliament No. 5 of 2007 (now cap. 425) with a view of enhancing knowledge and skills of legal practitioners in Tanzania through among other things conducting managing and impacting practical legal training to law graduates aspiring to become legal practitioners in the country. The School invites qualified Tanzanians to fill the vacant post below
JOB POST: ASSISTANT LECTURER (1 Post)
REPORTS TO: HEAD – PRACTICAL TRAINING
i. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a. To teach up to NTA level (bachelor Degree)
b. To prepare learning resources for tutorial exercises
c. To conduct research, seminars and case studies
d. To carry out consultancy and community services under close supervision
e. To supervise students projects
f. To prepare teaching manual; and
g. To perform any other duties assigned by Supervisor
ii. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES
a. A holder of Master’s Degree in Law
b. Should be registered as an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania
c. Three (3) years experience in legal practice
d. Experience in providing instructions in academic and professional program
e. Ability to relate to students and other members of staff including problem management skills; and
f. Proven ability to implement practical training programs
iii. REMUNERATION
According to the harmonized Scheme of service for Technical Teacher (NACTE) and the Law School Schemes of Service Salary Scale PHTS 2.1
iv. GENERAL CONDITIONS
a. All applicants must be citizens of Tanzania and not above 45 years old
