Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Developing education programmes, activities and workshops around particular exhibitions or in response to particular themes or annual festivals .
2. Liaising with schools, colleges and teachers to promote the use of the collections and activities of the museum in line with the national curriculum
3. Creating a learning strategy to engage the public in line with the ethos of the museum
4. Creating and developing educational resources for visitors, schools, families and special interest groups
5. Delivering talks, workshops and activities in partnership with storytellers, craftspeople and artists
6. Managing programmes and teams of volunteers
7. Facilitating history-inspired activities in the local community in response to requests from schools and community groups or to promote particular exhibitions
8. Collating, analysing and applying feedback on the educational activities provided
9. Working with other museum staff to develop and market the museum and the events programme;
10. Representing and promoting the museum on external educational bodies in order to establish a network of useful and productive partnerships.
11. Prepares monthly reports related to management, conservation and curation of museum collections
12. Writes Project Proposals
13. Performs any other related duties may be assigned by superior

Entry Qualifications:
1. BA/BSc degree in Education with a major or minor in Museum Studies, Archaeology, Cultural Heritage Management, History, Tourism, Geography, Geology or Biology and with a minimum of Second Upper Class degree.
2. MA/MSc is an added advantage
Salary scale: PGSS 7.1.
Age: Not more than 40 years for those who are not in Public Service
