Duties and responsibilities of
• Responsible for the day to day provision of technical support to mechanical tea harvesting in the allocated estate.
• Conduct daily machine pre start safety inspection
• Conduct weekly repair and maintenance of the mechanical harvesting machines
• Participate in the annual repair and maintenance of the light duty machines
• Ensure proper storage and transportation of the light duty machines
• Supervise mixing of two stroke engine oil and petrol
• Participate in operator safety inductions and training on machine operability
• Conduct TPM training to operators especially in relation to autonomous maintenance (operator machine relationships)
• Maintain records of repair and maintenance
• Participate in the development of safe operating procedures and specific work instruction for the light duty machines.
• Collect, analyse, monitor machines performance data and issue weekly, monthly and annual progress reports to the following key stakeholders Field Technology Manager, Estate Manager and the Assistant Manager, Engine and pumps for business decisions.
• Work closely with Field supervisors for monitoring and performance improvement.
