Main duties and responsibilities:
i) Assists in acquiring accurate base map.
ii) Reviews and updating existing GIS data
iii) Advices the management on GIS application development
iv) Carries out survey to identify the existing water network, valves and tapping points of customers
v) Carrying out survey to identify the existing sewer network and connection point of customers
vi) Mapping all customers within the are of jurisdiction.
vii) Maintains proper records of all Tanga UWASA customers with their respective
viii) Supervises the GIS Assistants for effective mechanisms to maintain GIS applications
ix) Trains Tanga UWASA staff on GIS applications.
x) Leases with customer Service Department on all issues relating to customer status.
xi) Propose and establish district metering area (DMA)
xii) Perform any other duties related to GIS project as many be assigned by Technical manager.
Qualifications and Experience: The holder of this position must have the following:
i) holder of Bachelor of science degree/ advanced diploma in civil/sanitary/ Environmental
Engineering from a recognized higher learning instruction.
ii) Must be registered with the engineers registration board of Tanzania as professional engineer.
iii) Minimum of three years working experience as an engineer in the water sector.
iv) A strong IT knowledge including Auto CAD/GIS or any other relevant engineering
