A BRIEF OF THE POSITION: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER?
The BDM works together with the Projects Coordinator and reports directly into the Head of Department – Projects.The role is a mixture of sales and marketing. But with more emphasis on effectively seeking out new opportunities in the banking sector to profitably grow the business.
WHAT DOES THE BDM DO?
The BDM will initially spend 80% of their time in-field strategically targeting and approaching banking institutions with our service offering and accordingly report progress and outcomes. He/She will be required get involved in the full process of new clients acquisition activities, i.e Scoping, budgeting, proposing, confirming, executing and reporting.
Other related tasks are;
Researching and sourcing potential business opportunities and contacts
Developing and maintaining business relations with banks and financial institutions
Following up business leads and identifying new sales opportunities
Setting up client meetings
Promoting the organization’s additional products and services
Preparing professional presentations for new clients, selling all the features of why they should move their custom over or stay with your firm
Preparing and submitting formal business tenders and proposals
Managing ongoing business accounts whilst building new relationships
Monitoring sales data and account performance
Identify opportunities and risks for delivering the company’s services, including identification of competitive services, opportunities for innovation, in the banking world
PREFERRED QUALITIES
A master’s degree would be great
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the confidence to approach people at all levels of seniority

REMUNERATION
The package for this position comprises a base salary and commission on sales based on new client acquisition and volume of business brought-in.
