As an ideal roster candidate, you will:
Have at least 7 years’ experience in peacebuilding. In particular, you will have expertise in one or several of the following areas:
Participatory conflict analysis
Participatory conflict sensitivity analysis
Community security
Social Cohesion
Mediation and negotiation
Confidence building
Stabilization following periods of conflict
Addressing trauma and psychological self-care in situations of violent conflict
Monitoring and evaluation of peacebuilding programmes
Providing policy advice on peacebuilding issues
Have proven experience of developing and facilitating training sessions on peacebuilding issues to a broad range of audiences
Have proven experience of facilitating difficult conversations between people experiencing conflict
Have proven experience of providing advice at both a strategic and a specific activity level
Be willing and able to deploy on field missions at relatively short notice for up to three months
Have the willingness to work as part of a small geographically dispersed team but also to work with minimal supervision, ability to absorb information quickly and provide quality advice with short lead-in times, proven experience of working in complex and difficult environments, a can-do attitude, result-focus, emotional intelligence, self-awareness and the ability to put yourself in others’ shoes.
Excellent English language skills (required)
Arabic language skills (this is an advantage rather than a requirement)
