3. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Manager [1 position based in Dar]

Job Overview:
Reporting to Jhpiego Tanzania Country Director with dotted lines to the Senior Communications Specialist-Africa Region, the Communication and Stakeholder-and Engagement Manager will work collaboratively with the senior management team, technical programmatic teams.’ administrative staff, and Jhpiego’s Global Engagement and Communications (GECO) Department to oversee internal and’ external communication efforts to raise the profile and visibility of Jhpiego and its programs in Tanzania and, globally. The’ Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Manager will also manage Jhpiego Tanzania knowledge management stakeholder engagement activities by acting as the main liaison for knowledge sharing and primary relationships contact and through developing a knowledge management and stakeholder engagement strategies and frameworks.

Roles and Responsibilities: .
• Develop and implement Jhpiego of Tanzania and program specific (where necessary) communication and knowledge management strategies,
• Develop and implement clear framework for Jhpiego stakeholder engagement,
• Document and coordinate dissemination (through conventional and new media) of user-friendly project information, success stories, photographs, and achievements to relevant stakeholders,
• Ensure high quality program communication (including but not limited to newsletters, brochures, flyers, ads, promotional videos, slideshows) and multi-media materials are available to support Jhpiego Tanzania internal and external communication efforts,
• Oversee editing, formatting and creative design of Jhpiego publications and visibility materials
• Ensure proper branding and marking of Jhpiego-Ied programs, materials and activities,
• Work closely with the Jhpiego External Relations and Communications (ERCO) at Headquarters to develop accurate, creative story ideas for a variety of media and for visible materials,
• Work with Jhpiego Tanzania Management to ensure that all Jhpiego staff are familiar with the Jhpiego Communications
• Manual and processes,
• Oversee public events management, media coverage and stakeholder engagement,
• Find new and innovative avenues to communicate Jhpiego message,
• Develop and maintain a stakeholder database.
• Create protocols to update and to follow-up on interested stakeholders on their engagement and impact,
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications
• Degree (preferably advanced degree) in mass communication, public relations, journalism, public health, marketing or related field,
• Outstanding command of Swahili and English languages,
• Proven writing {non-technical} and editing skills,
• 7+ years communication/marketing experience, preferably in the health or development field,
• Ability to develop communications and knowledge management plans to synchronize with organizational goals in knowledge management, fundraising and development, government and corporate relations,
• Ability to develop a stakeholder engagement and communications network for development of narrative of the organization work,
• Understanding of conventional and new communications channels, including electronic: print, and social media,
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with audiences important to Jhpiego, including governments, media, legislators, donors and prospective donors, and corporate leaders,
• Ability to represent the organization effectively to external audiences including corporate and foundation executives, business and government organizations and other collaborating agencies,
• Strong computer, graphic design, organizational, analytical and assessment skills
• Ability to meet deadlines under extreme pressure
• Experience and ability to travel frequently to the field and international.
