IMA World Health Manages the ENVISION program in Tanzania in strict collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOHSW) and the Neglected Tropical Disease Secretariat. IMA World is a nonprofit, faith-based organization working to restore health, hope and dignity to those most in need. IMA works primarily in the developing world, where an estimated 30 to 70 percent of health care is provided by faith-based organizations. IMA has 50 years of experience in supporting, implementing and providing technical assistance to implementing partners in resource-constrained settings, and specifically has worked on the control, elimination and management of morbidity caused by NTDs for the past 17 years.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
• Work closely to strengthen the MOHSW and NTD Secretariat as well as other relevant partners for a coordinated and effective implementation of ENVISION program activities.
• Conduct strategic planning of ENVISION program activities.
• Develop and manage work plans and budgets in line with the program needs
• Conduct regular reviews of program activities and budgets in collaboration the NTD secretariat.
• Lead IMA ENVISION program and finance officers in all program activities with.
• Manage program funds according to established IMA accounting and procedures.
• Mentor, motivate and manage IMA ENVISION team to ensure high quality program management, monitoring and evaluation.
• Build capacity of partners at the regional and district levels.
• Establish communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staffs in the organization on the progress of the program.
• Work closely with IMA HQ ENVISION team to ensure high quality program management, monitoring and evaluation.
• work closely with other local NTD partners to follow up the country`s NTD implementation plan.
• Conduct regular field visits to partners in the program areas for both technical support and program and finance monitoring.
• Lead IMA representation at national and district levels on ENVISION program matters with government representatives.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Country Director.
Qualification
• Tanzania National with good record of interpersonal communication skills and team building.
• Five or more years of program management in a senior level position in a reputable organization, preferably an international NGO/Donor Funded or public health research program.
• Understanding of the neglected tropical disease (NTI) issues and control measures.
• Skills in strategic and program planning and ability in analytical, written and advocacy skills.
• Experience in managing multi-partner programs including public and private entities.
• Exposure in health program management specifically health interventions or health research.
• Good record of managing in and producing results in high pressure, fast-paced work environments.
• Ability and willingness to travel to the field for extended periods of time.
• Computer literate and good presentation skills.
• Good communication skills in Kiswahili and English Languages.
Preferred Academic Qualifications
• A Degree in Medicine or Health related subjects.
• Masters in Public Health and Tropical Medicine is an added advantage.
Terms and Conditions
The position is for one year and renewable upon mutual agreement.
