Estate Officer III – Dar es salaam – Bank of Tanzania

Job Purpose:
To carry out the Branch’s estate management and administration activities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Planning curative and preventive maintenance works for the estates, machinery and equipment in accordance with laid down routine schedule;
b) Preparing specifications and bill of quantities for tenders of capital works, repair and maintenance works;
c) Conducting periodic inspection on buildings, machinery and equipment;
d) Updating estate register and housing inventory;
e) Drafting and reviewing lease agreements;
f) Compiling requests for residential houses by staff;
g) Providing secretarial services to the Branch House Committee.
h) Undertaking valuation of the Branch’s estates for defined purpose and arranging for their insurance;
i) Liaising with relevant authorities for property and asset registration;
j) Maintaining fixed asset register for the Branch’s estate properties;
k) Administering movement of furniture, equipment and machinery within and outside the Bank’s premises;
l) Facilitating acquisition of plots and title deeds for the Bank’s properties;
m) Preparing period schedules for and supervising fumigation of Bank’s premises;
n) Carrying out analysis on information arising from preventive maintenance schedule and providing statistical reports on performance and maintenance works;
o) Supervising site works and preparing progress reports;
p) Initiating payment to service contractors, service providers and suppliers;
q) Performing other relevant duties as assigned.

Education/Professional Qualifications Required:
a) Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Estate Management, Building Economics or its equivalent from accredited academic institutions;
b) Proven analytical skills;
c) A good team player;
d) Excellent written and oral communication skills.
