Entry Qualifications:
Holder of MBA in Human Resources Management or Msc. Human Resources Management, Public Administration or its equivalent from a recognized institution. She/he must have at least 11 years relevant work experience, five (5) of which must have been in a senior position. She/he must have good computer and interpersonal skills.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Fosters and inculcates a business oriented culture, which recognizes superior service, teamwork, taking initiatives, empowerment and respect.
2. Fine tunes the organization set up to ensure the structure supports the chosen strategic focus and direction.
3. Formulates and implements a manpower plan which is consistent with the Business plan.
4. From time to time, reviews the remuneration packages with the objective of attaining internal and external equity balance.
5. Implements performance management system that supports the business plan.
6. Prepares and implements a Training plan and budget that enhances levels of staff performance.
7. Ensures that the Human Resource Management information system produces the necessary reports for use in planning and control.
8. Ensures cost effective welfare services are provide to employees.
9. Manages internal transport logistic requirements for all departments.
10. Manages the upkeep of office environment cleaning services, fumigation, electricity, water and sewerage in an efficient way to ensure all staff clone in a healthy and safe environment.
11. Manages the company`s and outsourced security services which include security guards and fire protection services, at the central level and in the zones, to ensure the company`s property is well protected.
12. Conducts open performance review and appraisal of subordinates and gives feedback.
13. Liaises with the Trade Union to ensure harmonious work relations
14. Develops individual objectives/targets and performance standards as part of the individual performance agreement in consultation with the Managing Editor.
15. Performs any other duties as might be assigned by the Managing Editor.
