JOB OPPORTUNITY FOR LEGAL OFFICER (Ref.No. LO/NHC/1)
National Housing Corporation (NHC) is inviting applications from suitable qualified, dynamic and good team player to fill the position of Legal Officer to join legal services Unit. The Legal reports to the Legal Manager (Contracts) and has overall responsibility for undertaking the drafting of all types of contracts and thereafter manages the same during implementation cycle.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities include;
1. Provide timely and accurate legal advice as and when required to do so
2. Research and provide legal opinions on laws affecting the Corporation
3. Represent the Corporation in Corporation in courts and quasi-judicial bodies
4. Undertake detailed supplier’s intelligence check and due diligence investigation
5. Interview internal clients, take instruction, prepare files and keep in safe custody all contracts and relevant documents
6. Prepare submissions, articles and reports for submission to the Corporation Internal Customers and or presentation at conferences and public forums
7. Attend and participate in both internal and external meetings as instructed
8. Undertake the administration and management of contracts
9. Vet make effective and monitor the validity of all types of construction bonds
10. Issue relevant notices and early warnings as and when circumstances so demands
11. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications and experience
1. A holder of bachelor degree in law (LLB) with three (3) years relevant work experience in legal practice and a post graduate qualification will be an added advantage
2. Must be good communications and interpersonal skills
3. Should be computer literate
