Monitoring And Evaluations Specialist – Dar es salaam – Mwanzo Bora Nutition Program

PERFOMANCE
Africare US based private voluntary organization headquartered in Washington DC, is seeking for a qualified Tanzanian to fill the position of monitoring and evaluation specialist for the Mwanzo Bora Nutrition Program based in Dar es salaam. The MBNP is a USAID funded program through feed the future and global health initiatives. The goal of the program s to support the government of Tanzania to bring oabout significance and measurable changes in the nutrition status of Tanzania through the implementation of the National Nutrition Strategy the Tanzania Agriculture and food Security investment and other relevant policies and strateges specifically MBNP is aiming to improve the nutrition status of children pregnant and lactating women in Tanzania with specific focus on reducing maternal anemia and childhood stunting at least 20% I Dodoma, Iringa, Manyara and Songwe Regions and in the three district in Zanzibar

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The incumbent will provide the leadership and accountability for the performance of monitoring and evaluation of the MBNP. The specialist will work in collaboration with staff of Africare and MBNP consortium member field and project implementing partners and key stakeholders in Government development partners and non- government organizations including the private sector. In addition he/she will be responsible for Africare inputs to the feed the future survey and projects in Tanzania and will oversee and manage project –specific studies and follow up surveys’ of the program. The specialist will manage field M&E staff, short terms surveys and operations hires

RESPONSIBILITIES
– Implements project results based M&E plan thereby ensuring timely and accurate reporting on indicator based performance including reports for both USAID Africare and managing project evaluation activities
– Manage M&E data through data quality control and information system management
– Generate knowledge product and learning materials per project requirements
– Produce require reporting content and documents as stipulated In the project document
– Build capacity of M&E staff to enable them complete their tasks effectively and ensure staff short – term survey hires complete their assigned task and observe appropriate
– Support the design and rollout of project assessment and evaluations

QUALIFICATIONS
– Degree in monitoring and evaluation, statistics, nutrition, with strong knowledge and skills in M&E or related field
– 2 years of experience in M&E RELATED TO NUTRITION PROGARM
– 5 years of proven experience in planning and implementation of M & E system
– Experience in quantitative monitoring and evaluation methodologies including experimental and quasi- experimental evaluations
– Experience in data base management, DHIS2 AND GIS applications and knowledge of basis computer applications
– Strong management organizations and communications skills fluency I English and Kiswahili
