Responsibilities & Expectations
Work with Operations Management to ensure that there are adequate internal controls to safeguard the assets of the organization:
Periodic review of internal control environment and financial processes with risk assessment leading to ongoing control and process improvement
Work with internal and external auditors on site work
Perform accounting and financial analysis for company/plants
Perform month end close process and cost accounting
Maintain accurate & reliable data to support management decisions
Perform variance analysis to budget and prior periods
Reconcile balance sheet
Support the preparation of required external reporting (i.e., governmental and/or industry reporting)
Partner with Operations Management to maximize the profitability of the assets and resources
Provide plant budgeting, financial planning, and reporting policies and practices. Maintain timely analysis and reporting requirements
Prepare and present financial analysis across periods and data sets
Development, maintenance and tracking of operational KPI’s
Assess and communicate risks and opportunities in the business and work with the management team to address and resolve issues in a timely manner
Provide accurate and timely results through reporting to management
Provide plant and company level results to plant departments
Participate in monthly plant meetings to discuss prior month variances, CIP projects, forecasts, etc.
Provide ad-hoc reporting to management

Demonstrated leadership and communication skills with all multiple levels of management.
Demonstrated accomplishments in the areas of finance and accounting as well as operational activities to support a strong productive culture.
Must work well with others within and outside the Finance Department and can think “outside the box”. Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and develop strong relationships.
Ability to assess risks and opportunities within complex business situations.
Ability to recommend and make decisions quickly.
Must have proven hands on experience in month end closing for multiple plants.
Excellent PC skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel, and prior experience working with a large ERP system.
Familiarity with average costing and standard cost systems, inventory control procedures, and automated inventory control systems.
Mining and manufacturing background helpful.
Required Experience:
2+ years of experience in accounting, cost accounting, and financial analysis.
Required Education: BBA in Accounting or Finance
