QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree or equivalent qualifications relevant to UNESCO`s fields of competence (Education, Natural Science, social and Human Science, Culture, and Communication and Information)
• Must be computer literate.
• At least 3 years working experience in similar role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF PROGRAMME OFFICERS
i. Supervision and preparation of project proposals for submission to UNESCO under participation, Funds in Trust and Co-Action programmes.
ii. To coordinate implementation and execution of UNESCO major programmes.
iii. To coordinate UNESCO specialized programmes in UNESCO`s field of competence e.g. Man and Biosphere programme (MAB), intergovernmental Hydrological programme (IHP), Tangible and Intangible cultural Heritage, etc.
iv. To coordinate in relevant sectors Experts` committee meetings.
v. To participate in the preparations of the UNESCO Draft programmes and Budget.
vi. To participate in the preparation of country paper to the UNESCO General Conference.
vii. To prepare contracts/agreements for disbursement and management of project funds.
viii. To supervise implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects.
ix. Secretary of Experts committee for relevant sector programmes.
x. Performs any other duties as may be assigned by authorities.
