The Project Manager is primarily an employee of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Musoma with dual reporting to the Graca Machel Trust in Johannesburg, and will manage staff, volunteers, the project budget, project stakeholder relations, donor and stakeholder reporting and the implementation of all aspects of the project in order to ensure that targeted out of school children are identified, enrolled, retained and perform optimally in their school work.
Responsibilities and Key Performance Areas
• Manage the overall implementation plan of the project to ensure that activities are delivered on time and on budget
• Ensure project monitoring, evaluation and reporting to all relevant stakeholders on time
• Manage all project staff performance as per their job descriptions and key performance areas
• Manage the project budget to ensure timely implementation and financial reporting
• Manage the communication plan of the project
• Ensure the effective and efficient management of all relevant project stakeholder relationships
• Manage the project results framework and ensure it is updated timeously
• Manage all outsourced activities of the project
• Train and mentor staff and relevant project stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of the project OB time and on budget
• Manage all project assets and equipment
Requirements
• Proven experience and success in the implementation of large donor- funded projects
• Experience in the education sector, including teaching experience
• A degree in a relevant field of study
• A sound knowledge and understanding of monitoring and evaluation in donor funded projects Previous experience in managing a project team
• strong organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Swahili
• Excellent MS Office skills
• A valid driver’s license an added advantage
