SCOPE OF THE JOB
The Project Officer will support the development and implementation of WeWorld strategies and activities in Tanzania. S/he will assist the Country Representative in the coordination and collaboration between the organization and its project partners and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Suitable candidate should have a post-graduate degree in a field related to development or education or social sciences.
At least 4+ years of proven experience with:
• Project Cycle Management
• Logical framework approach
• Activity planning and budget management
• Report and proposal writing
S/he must also have:
• A good understanding or rural development, with a focus on participatory processes, joint management and gender issues
• Familiarity with and supportive attitude towards processes of strengthening local organizations and building local capacities for self-management
• Willing to undertake regular field visits and interact with different stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong computer skills (good knowledge of Word and Excel is a must)
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills in English and Kiswahili
DESIRABLE
Experience in Pre-Primary and Primary Education and Women Rights.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES AND TASKS
• Monitor WeWorld projects and programs through the appropriate use of project cycle management and logical framework, through the relationship with the local partner organizations involved, and through the work in the field.
• Facilitate WeWorld Partners’ relationships and networking for learning, and ensure effective mechanisms for sharing, capturing and applying Partners’ experience, knowledge and best practices.
• Guide implementing partners in preparing their progress reports. Together, analyze these reports in terms of problems and actions needed.
• Undertake regular visit to the field to support implementation of project activities and identify where adaptations might be needed.
• Provide documentation about the results of the WeWorld projects and programs, and spread good practices and innovations.
• Cooperate with local authorities and institutions for what concerns the activities of the projects.
• Relate with public authorities at ward and district level, as well as at regional and national level when specifically required by the Country Representative.
• Actively cooperate with the administrative department and technical staff of WeWorld and the implementing partners.
• Review partners’ report and edit both “subject-specific” and periodical monthly reports.
• Assist in the preparation of project proposals.
• Identify new reliable partners with new consistent project proposals.
• Help to identify and address the capacity building needs of NGO partners.
• Execute field preliminary surveys.
• Represent WeWorld, when commissioned by the Country Representative, in front of public, at forums and meetings.
