Required minimum qualification
Possession of a degree in Law or equivalent with at least five years working experience, three of which must be in a refugee setting, knowledge of Microsoft office and window based computer application.
Duties and responsibilities
• Supervise the initial screening of asylum seekers and refugees.
• Prepare individual case files, country of origin profile, for presentation and submission to National Eligibility Committee (NEC) sessions.
• Advise on matters pertaining to the revision of the National Refugee Policy and Refugee Act.
• Deal with protection concerns related to mixed marriage cases.
• Follow up on matters regarding separation of former combatants from genuine refugees
• Responsible for organizing training for relevant law enforcement officers on asylum procedures and refugee management.
• Participate in stakeholders meeting on mixed migration issues.
• Advise on durable solution alternatives for refugees having special protection needs.
• Attend matters concerning urban based refugees who have protection concerns.
