Basic Function
This position supports the Global Director, Risk and Insurance and the Manager, Risk and Insurance (US) in the placement and maintenance of global and domestic US insurance programs that protect the company’s balance sheet from financial consequences of a catastrophic loss and facilitate the conduct of business.
Roles & Responsibilities
Collect and organize data for certain US domestic & Global insurance program submissions and assist in insurance program renewals as directed.
Be the insurance lead on contract reviews concerning legal and regulatory insurance issues. Work with legal and procurement to develop vendor/contractor minimum insurance requirements in contracts.
Manage US Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP) for both select resident maintenance contractors and major capital projects.
Provide Emergency Response for employee, contractor and community support during and following an emergency in support of the company Crisis Management Team (CMT).
Provide support on coordination, management and negotiation on major and complex claims.
Develop and implement training programs for various business units and employee groups, thereby enabling them to manage routine insurance and risk management issues.
Contribute and provide support in the development and administration of premium allocation models.
Min. Qualifications
Requires a B.S. or B.A. plus 5 years or more of risk management and/or insurance brokerage experience, preferably within the energy or petrochemical industry. This individual must possess strong interpersonal skills and operate well in a fast-paced team environment. This individual must be well organized and able to address and resolve insurance and risk management related issues.
Extensive external and internal contact at a variety of levels will require the capability to positively interact with and influence a diverse group of individuals throughout the company and outside the organization with insurance underwriters, brokerage, and claims personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
Insurance Professional Certification, ARM, CRM, CPCU strongly preferred.
An advanced degree (e.g. MBA, Law) is preferred.
