Saint Luke Foundation (SLF), a registered Trust of ELCT, was established in 2004 from the formerly known as ELCT Infusion Units Project. SLF then took the main activities of the Infusion Units Program (IUP) and later established the Kilimanjaro School of Pharmacy (KSP). Under the IUP, SLF has managed to facilitate the establishment and offers professional support for maintenance of Infusion production of intravenous fluids in hospitals in Tanzania and nearby countries. KSP is a pharmacy school providing competence based training for different levels of pharmaceuticals cadres. In respect of long term sustainability of Kilimanjaro School of Pharmacy (KSP) and the Infusion Units Program (IUP), a process of restructuring the organization and responsibilities for SLF as a semi-autonomous entity under Good Samaritan Foundation (GSF) is in process. The incumbent will be responsible to this process for successful transition and beyond.

Job Title: SLF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR.
Reports to: SLF Board of Trustees
Working relations with: KSP Head of School, GSF Executive Secretary
Duration: Three (3) years contract (with initial six months of probation) renewable based on successful performance

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
He will be responsible for coordinating and managing all Saint Luke Foundation (SLF) activities and staff during and after transition. He will be the primary liaison between SLF, the Settler (Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania in Tanzania – ELCT) and the Good Samaritan Foundation (GSF). He will also coordinate and manage communication with SLF stakeholders in Tanzania and other African Countries, and development partners who have been collaborating with SLF in the implementation of its activities. The Executive Director will be required to provide strategic technical guidance for infusion program and Kilimanjaro School of Pharmacy and plan for further expansion of services inline with SLF Vision and Mission. In executing the transition process of transferring the management and ownership of the Kilimanjaro School of Pharmacy (KSP) and Infusion Units Program (IUP) to GSF; he will work closely with the General Secretary of ELCT; the Executive Secretary of GSF, and the Principal of KSP.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities
• To communicate with the Members of the Board of Trustees and the Settler (ELCT) about the development of the services and programs of SLF
• Be secretary to the Board
• To chart, map and pursue steps required for the transition process to further develop and consolidate of KSP and IUP activities into framework of GSF
• To nurture of partnerships with collaborating partners and to develop new contacts internally and abroad
• Provide continuous technical support to partner facilities in the management and development of IUP with emphasis to adherence to local and International quality standards
• Provide technical support in designing and implementing a sustainable supply system of all inputs and technical maintenance services for IUP
• To generate information required for advocacy on services rendered by SLF to attract technical and financial support and collaboration with development partners.
• Manage human and financial resources of SLF
• Produce quarterly financial reports and submit them to the Board
• Produce annually audited accounts and submit them to the Board for approval
• Perform other duties as assigned by the SLF Board and GSF Executive Secretary.

Academic qualification and experience
• Masters degree in medical or related disciplines with track record in management
• Possess at least five years experience at senior managerial position
• PhD qualification will be added advantage
