a) Provide training to all Mission computer users in systems use and access i.e. hardware and software applications. Plan, design and coordinate training programs. Talk to developers and suppliers of the new IT products and teaching methods to maintain valid personal knowledge and skill. Assess and analyze training needs.
b) Perform programming as required by the Mission: applications programming in one or more computer languages on the basis of specifications; analyzing program applications developed by others to determine impact on overall workload, compatibility with other programs and with computer systems being used; develop and maintain macros to assist in conduct of Mission business.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
Education:
A university -level degree in information and computing systems is required or relevant discipline with proven proficiency in hardware, software & telecommunication support; with broad ranging experience in IT support (i.e. Windows 2000, UNIX, and Oracle, LAN/WAN administration, maintenance and programming). Capable of quickly adapting to changing environments (procedures, guidelines and regulations) is required.
Prior Work Experience:
At least 5 years’ experience in systems support in LAN/WAN and standalone environment, including hardware maintenance and operations & software applications; applications programming and MS office users training is required.
Language Proficiency:
Level III (good working knowledge) in English and Kiswahili (speaking, reading and writing) is required.
Skills and Abilities Knowledge:
Previous training experience is a desirable qualification.
