2. DEPUTY VICE CHANCELLOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS (DVCAC):

Qualifications: Applicants must be in possession of a PhD degree or equivalent from an
accredited University, and an academic rank of at least Associate Professor; excellent
record of academic leadership in teaching, research, and publication; outstanding record
of experience in providing community service; and tested integrity with management
experience in academic institutions. He/she must have at least 5 years of senior academic
leadership experience in universities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1) The Chief advisor to the Vice Chancellor on all academic matters, pertaining to:
a. Coordination and management of Postgraduate Studies.
b. Research and Publications.
c. Coordination of Undergraduate Studies.
d. Coordination of Continuing Education.
e. Timetabling and related matters.
f. Quality Assurance of all academic outputs.

2) Overall responsibility for conduct of admissions, examinations, and all academic
related activities, including Graduation ceremony events.

3) In charge of the academic staff performance review process.

4) Serving as Chairperson for a number of academic related committees.

5) Acts on behalf of the Vice Chancellor (VC) when he/she is away.

6) Performs any other such duties as assigned by the VC from time to time

Reporting to: The Vice Chancellor.

Supervises: All staff in the office of the DVC Academic Affairs.

Tenure: Four (4) years contract, renewable for two further terms, subject to satisfactory
performance and successful completion of a one-year probation period upon recruitment.

Remuneration: According to the HKMU salary scales and fringe benefits.
